About Margarita – Margarita’s Tasty Kitchen Cookery School, Market Harborough 2017-10-29T10:22:32+00:00

Hi, my name is Margarita. I was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada – home of the Vancouver Canucks, Michael Bublé and the Nanaimo Bar (you have to try it!). In 2006, I decided to move to London, England and was immediately taken aback by all the amazing food the city had to offer.

After many years of humming and hawing, in 2013 I decided to finally take the leap, leave my advertising job and pursue what I always dreamed of doing – cooking! For as long as I can remember, I have been obsessed with food – not just eating it, but cooking it, and more importantly, I really enjoyed cooking for others.

It’s not surprising that my love for food started when I was quite little, growing up in the family restaurant business and constantly being surrounded by fantastic cooks and food.

I started a food business – Margarita’s Pies – selling North American style fruit pies at farmer’s markets and food festivals in London and Kent. When I first moved to London, it was quickly apparent to me that it was really hard to find the kind of scrumptious, indulgent fruit pies I could get back home in Canada. I finally had my ‘eureka’ moment, and decided to bring these lovely pies to the UK myself. In 2016 my Strawberry and Rhubarb Pie was awarded a gold star at the Great Taste Awards.

In addition to Margarita’s Pies, I decided to embark on a new adventure and started Margarita’s Tasty Kitchen, teaching cookery classes in Kent and London, and I was hooked! I loved being able to pass on my knowledge and experience in the food industry, and I am happy and proud to say that Margarita’s Tasty Kitchen built up a strong and loyal customer base. In 2016, my time in London came to a close and I began an exciting new chapter in my life, moving my home and cookery school to the charming village of Great Oxendon, just outside of Market Harborough.

I look forward to meeting the many new faces at one of my upcoming classes. I hope to see you there!

All the best,

Margarita
